DETOXIFICATION/ PRIMARY CARE PROGRAM
Arms Acres offers a 25-bed medical detoxification unit, focusing on safe
withdrawal from alcohol and other addictive substances. A multidisciplinary team
representing internal medicine, psychiatry, nursing, social work and counseling provides
each patient with comprehensive assessment and treatment in a timely and caring manner.
To ensure safe and prompt treatment, Arms Acres provides transportation to the
facility. Upon arrival at Arms Acres, patients are admitted directly to the detoxification
unit where they receive immediate medical and counseling attention. They are not subject
to the emergency room delays often experienced at general hospitals.
At the conclusion of detoxification treatment, patients may be transferred to the Arms
Acres Men or Women's Rehabilitative Programs or directly referred for outpatient
follow-up.

transport and prompt care.
All Arms Acres programs are accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of
Healthcare Organizations and licensed by the New York State Office of Alcoholism and
Substance Abuse. Arms Acres accepts Medicaid, commercial insurance and most of the
