REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma, or Equivalent; or one to three months’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of Substance Abuse, 12 Step Program, and Sponsorship.

MAJOR FUNCTIONS: The Crisis Unit Milieu Counselor functions under the supervision of the Supervisor, Clinical Manager and/or Program Director. Facilitates communication with all patients and assists in maximizing program participation.

DIETARY DEPARTMENT

- Cooks & Dietary Aides, to assist the Cook.

Weekdays & Weekends

Combination of scheduled shifts 10:30am-7pm and/or 5:30am-2pm
Range of Hours per week 8-40 (variable)

FUNCTION To assist in preparation and service of all functions in the Dietary Department.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee frequently is required to walk, reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to use hands to manipulate, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls and taste foods being prepared. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, extreme heat or cold, and risk of slipping on wet or greasy floors or electrical shock. All staff will report hazards, malfunctioning utilities and equipment to the Cook-on-Duty and/or the Physical Plant Manager. Other staff will be alerted as needed.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but occasional loud noises abrupt in nature can occur.
